09 FourWinns H190 deck?

Went to look at an 09 H190 today that was for sale by our cottage. I was slightly taken back by the construction of the deck/cockpit-interior. It looks like the deck only extends down a few inches on the inside and the rest is open to the exterior carpeted hull. It appears only the bow floor/seats are molded as part of the deck with the cockpit flooring being something else...

Anyone familiar with this type of construction? Any concerns? My concern is a one-shot molded deck would be structurally stronger than whatever fourwinns had going on in this vintage.

I forgot to take pictures, but I found a good example online. You can clearly see how the interior cockpit sides have no fibreglass and how the cockpit floor doesn't look like it was molded in with the overall deck.

Picture doesn't show the transition from glass to carpet over wood is my guess . If that's the case you have to physically look at the underside of the wood deck , usually through the ski locker . Flashlight, and screwdriver to poke around with and check any suspect soft wood . That carpet over wood set up is terrible. Also look under the gunwales, engine cover ,sundeck etc . Basically every nook and cranny for soft deteriorating wood that may have been used for backing of some sort .

Thanks for the input. That carpet on the side actually feels like it’s glued to the inside of the hull there. The top deck fibreglass stops at that line entirely (just under the throttle). Hard to tell in the pic but that carpet on the side is recessed back about 5”. Which also means the cockpit floor likely isn’t part of the deck mold.

We looked at other older boats that had one-piece glass decks (cockpit +’bow + seating). I was curious what the difference would be between that and what you see here.

The one piece glass decks are 100% better than carpet over wood set up . They will rot out , nature of the beast .

Just started looking at some older boats and was curious if there’s an advantage to a boat with full fibreglass liner vs one with a fibeglass deck and floor that are disconnected?

For instance Bayliner 195, Maxum 1800, Four Winns 190 LE in the 2007ish range all have interior glass that ends just below the gunwhales then the floors are separate fibreglass component(s). Pic attached. Other boats have have a full fibreglass liner where the floor is part of the entire deck.
