08 suzuki 90 fourstroke questions.

please help,i have a 08 suzuki 90 fourstroke that idles kinda rough and when throttled up it will not go over 4000 rpms. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

The first thing I ever do when an engine is running rough is put in new spark plugs--$10 investment.

If it's still running rough, have a dealer plug his diagnostic computer into the engine to see if it's throwing a code.

So many problems with modern engines are fuel related--with 90/10 gasoline breaking down due to non-use or age.

The days of the shade tree marine mechanics is over--with modern CAN/BUS outboards.

thanks bamaman1, I took the tank out this morning and chunks fell out that looked like cornflakes,so i cleaned it out and now the motor purrs like a kitten,i overlooked the obvious!
