Remove the drive annually to check/lube the U joints, gimbal bearing, bellows, spline grease and alignment. Proper Thing #B-3 prop wrench works really well.

Remove the drive yearly for service. Grease yoke shaft, check bellows for water and dry rot/cracks, check gimbal bearing. Replace O-rings check alignment and reinstall.

If you used in salt water absolutely put a new set of anodes on the drive and trim rods each year.

Never paint the stainless steel props regardless of how often you have to deal with barnacles on them. (Even if it is antifouling paint meant to go on the drive)

Remove both props yearly to grease the prop shaft.

The main fight with bravo 3's is the corrosion. The drives themselves are reliable, but they disintegrate if not care for properly. The Sacrificial anodes help keep the drive from rotting away, you take the drive off to check above and ALSO to make sure it comes off. Which if left on for 5-10 years...it might not, same goes for the props. Take em off so they can come off in the future if needed.

Have fun boating!
