I have on old TLDI 50, runs like a top and love the motor. Lately, its not starting when we're out on the water. The bulb is soft and pumping it up usually starts it and it runs fine. This only happens occasionally, and oddly, never at home flushing the motor.
I've gone through the fuel feed system. Replaced the fuel line with tohat$u factory fuel line and bulb but it still fails to start 100% reliably. The pick up in the tank is clear, and the quick disconnects test ok. Can't find any air leaks in the system.
I understand there is an issue with 40/50 TLDI's with vapor lock and the fix was a lift pump to maintain pressure in the fuel line. Is this a viable fix? Anyone have this fix and can ID the pump and where its installed.
Thanks for any help!
