06 mercury 15hp oil leak question

Hey all, I recently purchased a 4 stroke 15 hp ob. I placed it correct in the trunk it even said this side up. When I transported it home I have some oil spilled. I have it home on a stand and I do see a small oil drip. Is that just because it should not have been laying down in my trunk? Or is this something I should be concerned about?

pull the dip stick and check it. if its low add some and keep an eye on it. probably from laying on its side.

I don't have a 4 stroke but I do remember reading of a caution when lying on their side that there is a preference apparently to prevent your problem. Easiest thing to do would be to lay it on the opposite side the next time you transport and see if that cures the problem, after you check the oil level as mentioned.
