Here is my dilemma, a new 06 150hp Optimax is around $9,300 and the salesman said they have a 2004 150 Optimax for $7,700 and it came from Mercury as a re-manufactured/serviced motor and will have a one year warranty from Mercury. I'm sure that both prices can be chipped down a little, but which would you get?<br /><br />I would like to know what the ECU says on the 04 and how many hours it says it has on it and what the compression numbers are then I might be able to make a better/informed decision, but, for the extra, say, $1,600 would it be better to go new and be done with it?
