Replaced water pump on 2004 150 4 stroke. Can't get shaft to fully engage. Rotated shaft slightly to engage splines, helped. But still 3/4inch remains to be engaged. Removed 5 inch spacer and gear shift shaft is engaging in female, but not completely. Any suggestions, tricks. Thank you.
