04' Yamaha 9.9 kicker twist grip.

I have an ELHC 9.9 and the throttle grip is seized up.
I have taken the rubber grip off, but how do you take the round metal end cap off to slide the plastic throttle grip off?
Do you pound it off? I don't want to wreck anything, so any help would be appreciated.

Update to my own problem;
The end cap or bushing on the end of the throttle grip is secured by the tension screw. When you take the screw out of the end of the handle, it should com off. However, mine was so badly corroded that i ended up breaking it to get it off.
Now everything works great with new parts, and much grease/lube.
You can never have too much corrosion protection.
