02 mercury no plane

Trying to help a friend 02 mercury 200hp efi will not plane out compression within 5 psi of 120 new plugs he took to mechanic he said must be ecu he said fuel pump would go up to 45psi when reved I checked just psi with gauge in fuel line only it was 38 psi he ran out of fuel before this problem started any help thank you

What do I need to do to get a response I must have done something wrong

Do you have acess to a computor to check it out ?? These high tech motors are all electrical controlled and can be hard to figure out without the tools required. ECU is a high probability but only testing can say for sure.

Check the fuel system, filters and VST if it has one. Then check spark make sure it jumps 7/16" air gap. Then get the factory nanual
