Hey folks,
I need to replace the lower unit of my 2002 Mercury four-stroke 60 HP 'BigFoot' outboard.

Best price I can get on a new one is $1800, which I think is insane.

Been lookin for a used one, but it'd be nice to know what years an hp rated motors of the lower units, would match up to mine.

Would all the ones that'd bolt up have the same gearing? 1.83:1 for mine I believe.

I'd really appreciate any info that'd help get my boat back in the water ASAP, thanks!

For what it's worth, here's the info on the tag of the motor,

are you certain the your big foot has a 1.83:1 ratio. Big foot motors usually have deeper gears Which is why they are called Big foot.
