As mentioned in the subject, I have a 2001 Yamaha 1200. It has always run great, but it recently sat for six weeks and will not start. I've got a good battery and the starter turns over, but it just turns and turns and doesn't sound like it wants to do anything. Any pointers out there? Thanks!

well based on yourt post it would be a good start to clean the plugs and give it a shot of either in the air intake, see if it gets going also be sure you have spark .

i wanted to post a follow up for others. after replacing my sparkplugs, i noticed they were dry after i tried to start them. i followed my fuel line back to the filter and noticed it was low. a service guy told me it is a vacuum line and it would take a lot of cranking to get the level back up. so instead... put a few drops of gasoline down each hole were the spark plugs go. put the sparkplugs in and start it up. i did this about four times and it got it running.
