01 XLT Backfire

I tryed to start it up today...It tryied to run but backfired & stalled...now it just backfires, won't run..I put new reeds & a stuffer kit 3 months ago...could it have jump timing?

check compression,, and be sure the reeds are working properly, does fuel blow out the carbs

Compression's good 120 in all cylinders... i'm not sure about the reeds ,I gota pull the carbs

I talked to another guy..thinks i might have broke the key on the flywheel

Did you have the carb off ? If so check the gasket between the carb it could be sucking air

the xlt is the worst for carb repair, lotta stuff to take off. just had mine rebuilt
