01 ficht 250

I had a 01 ficht 250 and was wondering if that motor has a rev limiter and if it could have been faulty. I think I was underpropped and was over revving it. It blew a rod and sawed thru the power head. I seen the tach get up to 6400 + but was told it was probably miss calibrated tach because I never got into the high rev limiter.
I now own a 2010 250 etec and get right in or near 6000. Was wondering if that is a right for that motor under full throttle.

Ficht and Etec use a EMM and not a power pack. The EMM may have a rev limit feature, but not certain. Most Etec V6's want to see ~ 5800 @ WOT, although 6000 RPM shouldn't be a big deal. My Etec 175's have a range up to 5800 for normal operation.

optimum rpms 5500 to 5700.HO 250 500 to 5850.
