I've got a minivan with the power rear sliding doors. Too my surprise, they continue to work pretty well despite my initial skepticism.

However, I like to use them the old fashioned way for nostalgic purposes. One of the doors is much harder to open and close. I've tried to lubricate it but can't seem to grease anything that loosens it up.

anyone had any experience with these doors? Is there a procedure to lubing them?

sounds to me like more of an alignment problem.Look for wear marks, scraped metal on the tracks, bent tracks, etc.

On my 02 Honda Odyssey van, it was harder to do it manually than it is automatically. You are working against the automatic mechanism. There really isn't any good reason not to simply utilize the automatic features.

Are both the doors powered or just one? I have a mini van with one powered and one not. Opening or closing the powered door with the power switch shut off is difficult. I have had the rubber gasked get caught in the track and make it even more difficult to close.

Thanks for the replies. Both doors are power and one of them is much easier to use by hand than the other so I'm pretty sure the sticky one is not quite right. It's been sticky for the last two years since I've owned it.

It's the wifes car so I don't use it much but when I do I'm reminded of the door.

I don't think its a fit issue as the van has never been hit and is very straight. I'll have to check for something rubbing.

Its too cold to check it out right now!!!
