hello, i have an 01 merc 4 stroke, carburated.<br />this has always run excellent for me until this spring. my problem is it stumbles when accelerating, and at about 3000 rpms seems to run rough. when i open it up it runs smooth but it seems to have lost some top end rpms. so far i have a new fuel filter, and new plugs, fresh gas too. i noticed the timing belt seems loose, lots of play in it, is this normal for this motor?<br />any ideas before i take it to the dealer?<br />thanks in advance!
