100hp overheating

71 100 hp evinrude is overheating on the muffs. I pulled out the thermastat guts. can I run while I wait for the parts?

so long as the water is flowing and it is not overheating..it should not hurt it to run without thermostat..may not run quite as well but I think it is fine.

can I run while I wait for the parts? yes, but get the parts ordered. it will run cold, and build up carbon. i would do a decarb after the new stats. are you sure the impeller is OK?

Impellor is working. I hooked a garden hose up to the water inlet on the cylinders, water was able to flow out. My thought was are the water jackets clogged? The water flowed out. I'm assuming this means they're clear? Ihave ordered the vernatherm and a new impellor any way.
