gas hose connection leaking

Last year my son and I got stranded on the Wisconsin river when the connection to the motor started leaking. Haven't had the boat out since. When I squeezed the bulb the gas spit out. It has two male prongs. Did an O ring wear out or pop off? It's an old Johnson 40 horse.

sounds like a worn out o-ring on the quick disconnect. replacements are readily available. just get one for generic OMC (Evinrude/Johnson)

Walked to town and bought a new hose and it still leaked and had to paddle to a boat launch. Is there an O ring on the gas intake engine connection? Seems to be a oval space that one would fit in.

My kid is getting the fishing bug

what motor, model # there are a lot of 40 hp Johnson's, dating back to 1960.
