Minn Kota Endura ??

I'm looking at getting a Minn Kota Endura electric motor for my boat. I have a 1996 15" Smoker Craft Split Seat Alaskan and need to detrim which Minn Kota to get. I'm looking between the Endura 36lbs ($159) or the Endura 40lbs ($173) thrust. I do have a newer honda 9.9 on the boat which is calcuated into the capacity weight.

Using the formula found in the threads:

Actual weight + Capacity weight / 200 X 5 = Pounds of thrust needed.
310 + 850 / 200 x 5 = 29lbs of thrust

Anyone have some thoughts?

For a difference of $14 I don't see the dilema! Look at it as though that 14 bucks is buying you insurance that you'll have enough power. Saving the 14 bucks may make you unhappy if you find yourself short of power on windy days.

I don't see any wind or current cranked into that formula. Get the bigger one.
