Can anyone tell me the year of this boat based on the following HIN? STRE3046-1078-f9
The seller says it is 1980, but wonder if it is a 1978. Also, can you determine the model from it?
Everything I read says this is a 12 digit #, but this is not.

Are there any tricks to removing the carb for a 67 Evinrude 40hp big twin?
It actually looks very simple, remove the 2 bolts, but they are behind the carb and tools and hands cannot get in there. I have started taking off the generator, but then found that will not come off until other items...
UPDATE & HELP NEEDED: Boat has been at repair shop for last 1.5 weeks. They said the slow speed needle is broken and they cannot remove it to replace it. They said i need a new $400 carb which they do not make anymore. Told me they cannot help me and to maybe find a used one on Ebay.
