    9.9 4 stroke does not go through the weeds very well

    I upgraded from a Nissan 6 to a merc 9.9 and it seems less effective getting through the thick weeds. Is there anything I can do? Different prop? Sharpen the prop? I have tons of milfoil and fanwort.
