Thanks for the response. Too late! We bought a new Alumaweld Stryker x202 and couldn't be happier. It tows beautifully. We took our first ride out of Port Townsend yesterday and it's a nice riding boat. Haven't been out in rough weather, yet.

Thanks everyone. I plan to pick up printed charts for the areas I plan to be in. I have added a boat hook to my 'must-haves' list. For now, I am picking up a handheld VHF radio and will plan to install a fixed mount before next season.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't seem to be getting emails, when a reply is posted. Latest news: In fact, I bought the boat. It's a 115 Yamaha. They are installing a 9.9 Suzuki as a kicker. The Yamaha isn't EFI and I don't need to mess with a carburetor. The trailer was supposed to have...

Vernon (https://www.mastermarine.com/New-Inventory-2025-Alumaweld-Boat-Stryker-X202-17099963?ref=list). It shows the boat with a 115 Yamaha and a single axle trailer without brakes. According to a...

Thanks for all the replies. The Wrangler is the only vehicle I can own. I 4-wheel in the Arizona desert in the winter and flat tow it with a motor home. Sounds like 3500 lbs is the limiting factor. I have heard the word 'cork' a few times.

I have been boating most of my life in New England, but not recently. I grew up around small power and sail boats and spent many years with sailboats from 12 feet to 45 feet. I am looking in the Pacific northwest for a small boat I can tow with my Jeep Wrangler. I am planning to be in the Hood...
