    So put a new solenoid in last night, it worked when we tried it. Put everything back together and we're back to just clicking. At this point I think I'm just going to keep using the pull start. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions.

    When you turn the key you get 12v to the small bottom terminal, not on the top, should there be 12 to both?

    Yeah we have tried multiple batteries that we know are good.

    Ok got everything cleaned up. when turning the key we have 12v to the small bottom stud, the top is the ground, and still get the clicking in the solenoid.

    Do you mean the smaller ones? I have power on the right side but the side where the starter connects to I never get power turning the key.

    early 90's 25hp slipping out of reverse

    I have a 25hp 2 stroke merc. When putting it into reverse it will go into gear, then seems to slip out of gear. Putting it in neutral and forward has no issues. Only when putting it in reverse. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks
