    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

Ok, I’ll have to take a look where it’s coming from

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

Floats are closing when level, I believe the primer is working properly, have the red lever facing the body of the primer (correct?), I have noticed that the motor is burning a ton of fuel (I know they are pretty thirsty) but it seems like a float is still sticking even though I’ve had both...

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

I took them apart and cleaned them, looked at the needles and everything seemed fine. The pump was already on it when I bought it, just looks like a standard pump from an OMC v4

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

I’m also wondering if the fuel pump is supplying too much fuel to the carbs. It was originally a VRO motor but was already removed when I got it. I’ve checked the needles and seats but I do notice that sometimes some gas leaks out of the carbs when I pump the primer bulb, is this normal? Also...

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

I guess there is a chance I didn’t have the trim ALL the way down that could be causing the rising issue

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

Do you think the weight could be shoving the stern into the water until it gets up on plane? The front of the boat does shoot way up into the air until it gets up on plane

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

I pulled each plug at idle and it bogged way down, so I know it has spark at idle. When I started it for the first time on the stand I also had to shut it off by pulling plugs because it started revving way up and found out it has spark on three of the four the hard way

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

Yes the motor is new to me. Tore a guys transom off and went in the water. I got it running the day after it was in the water and only gave $200 for it.

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

I did pull the carbs completely apart, soaked them with amsoil solvent, and blew them out with a rubber tipped blow gun. Don’t have a tach hooked up right now so I’m not sure about rpm. The motor was on a 22’ fishing boat so I wouldn’t imagine it’s a very high pitch. I’m getting about 40 mph out...

    1986 Evinrude 110 fuel issue?

Hello, I have a 110 Evinrude V4 on a 77 Glasstron GT-150. I have taken apart the carbs and blown them out, inspected the gaskets and fuel pump, and checked the needles and seats, but I am still having trouble when I give the boat some gas. I would think with that motor and boat it would come up...

Ok, that makes sense, thanks for the help. Now I guess it’s time to see if I burnt up the coils

    1974 Evinrude 40hp ignition

So that pin in the plug is used to ground the coils to shut the motor off?

    1974 Evinrude 40hp ignition

I saw a wiring diagram that showed keyed 12v going to that post on the connector, but hopefully I didn’t burn anything up. Does yours use a black or a red plug?

    1974 Evinrude 40hp ignition

I recently got a 1974 Evinrude 40hp with no control box. It has a black wiring harness plug and after poking around for a while I figured out what some of the pins do, but I’m still trying to figure out what several of them are for. Starting with the large post on the right that seems to be a...
