Worked on the boat again today. I removed every wire from the alternator one at a time and then hooked up the battery and had ignition power each time (With the key off) Then I removed all the wires from the alternator at the same time and still had ignition power when I reattached the battery...
Thanks for the reply, here are some pics of the alternator before I removed it and I connected all the wires just as they were. Yes, current draw with the engine off and key off - all the gauges are energized since the current is not being shut off with the ignition. I have the battery...
Just replaced my 2000 Glastron Volvo Penta 4.3 GL engine because the block cracked from the deep freeze. Engine replacement went very easy and it started right up. Problem is the engine will not shut off unless I pull the coil wire. I removed the ignition switch and the engine still runs...
Got it figured out. The insert/washer just comes out easily from the back side of the balancer once you pull it off. It also easily taps into the new balancer. I have included pics of the insert out and installed into the new one.
The back of the water impeller fits on the insert of the balancer. It must be there for the impeller housing. Trying to find out how the remove the insert. Is it pressed in or easily removed from the back. Thanks.
