    How do you trim?

    When your out of the hole and on a plane, the engine will be less taxed. I noticed it when I'm out of the hole and adjust my trim upwards the engine is straining less. You can actually hear the engine mellowing out, when you trim up on the plane. It's a sweet spot.

    You should definitely look into Boat US. It's $175 for the year and you get free tows. I'm not sure how many tows they limit you for the year, but it's well worth it, especially in your case.     👍 I was actually thinking of cutting my exhaust bellows also, I bought an exhaust tube recently, I may actually just cut the exhaust bellows and not use the exhaust tube now, one less thing to do as I have to do my drive shaft bellows very soon, after I replace the Gimbal bearing.

    I'm trim down till I'm out of the hole, then I adjust the trim upwards till the waves break near the steering wheel where I have a good plane.

    @Scott06 So I can I keep the original shift cable and inner when I remove it, and then re-use it again without having to destroy it. Thanks for the clarification. I'll check out some videos too. I appreciate all the input everyone.

    Spark Plugs for a 1985 Mercruiser 3.0 Alpha One 140hp

    Can anyone recommend a good plug for my engine. 1985 Mercruiser A1-G1 3.0 140 HP I'm currently using AC Delco MR43LTS, but they need to be replaced. If so, are the NGKs better, and what would be the correct plug # for them.

    If your trying to put the outdrive back on, Is the shifter in the forward position/full throttle? If so it will line up, you have to turn the prop slightly to match up the splines. There's many videos on YouTube to help you achieve your goal.
