Saltwater corrosion = can't remove part

Thanks to all of your suggestions. I removed the pin using the freeze off. It took half a can of spray and some pounding, now its out... I guess thats what happens when the part is almost 50yrs old.

It looks like aluminum from the outside, here's a different view of the shock cylinder. The silver dot is the pin.

I tried the heat but nothing moves. I don't want to drill as I am not sure that pin is even sold anymore. I looked at the diagrams and can't find that part...

Saltwater corrosion = can't remove part

Hi all, I need to replace a trim cylinder on my '74 85hp Johnson. I pulled the cotter pin out of the part that holds it to the bracket. I tried to remove the pin but it seems like it frozen from the saltwater. Here's a picture of my dilemma. Any idea on how to remove this pin?, Thanks

I know the boat was last on the water in '19.and sat since then. Onev of the throttle cables is rusted through the casing which might of caused the shifting problem.

I did do plenty of searches and most parts bought were from Ebay. Some of the prices ae crazy,,,$10 for a small washer..????? Too bad boats don't have neighborhood junkyards.

I have a 74 Johnson 85 hp and the former owner removed the bell crank assembly. It goes from the shift linkage to the shift rod assembly. I searched marineengine.com and shipwreck salvage, both say not available. I did locate the parts on ebay. 7 parts from 6 different sellers.

Before I even purchased the boat, I did some research of what the requirements of are operating a boat. I looked in my area and there are no classes at this time.

Thanks, I will be needing a few parts. The former owner decided to remove a couple of key parts. I did a search and found that one is not available.
