    1978 SS 16 restoration

Dude offended no but you seem very upset that my situation has changed and I am leaving the StarCraft family of boats for awhile. A boat like this has always been a dream for me. I had the excuse and good reason to make the investment. I now have basically a vacation home. I love my StarCraft...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

Oh I know she will be a thirsty girl But what you are forgetting is to use the starcraft where I prefer to be is 110 miles each way over 2 mountains towing. I can go out to my fishing spot in this anchor for the weekend and come back using about the same amount of fuel. My Jeep alone goes...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

An 8 footer for the kids with 8 ho is good for when we are docked. When we are out they will be on the big boat. A 16 is great but maintenance sucks and the 16 uses way more fuel.

    1978 SS 16 restoration

I did over on the Trojan section but there's like no one there and my StarCraft friends here are cooler. I'm gonna get a smaller StarCraft something with a little tiller motor for running around by the marina. Once this one and my Monark sell

    1978 SS 16 restoration

I'm gonna count it as a splash when I move it from it's current location to it's new one. It's maiden voyage under my ownership will be a 30 nm run from where it's at to where I will be keeping it. Hopefully not this weekend but the following one. I gotta replace the risers on the engines. I...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

It's a nice boat. It needs some cleaning and an updated interior. I have plans for new carpet and curtains and stuff like that.i am sure there will be other stuff. Less of a project more of a work in progress. It's a bit of a project but not a huge project and it'll be an ongoing one so at least...

    1972 Trojan F365 Tri Cabin

Well I just bought this boat. I am noticing that there is some discoleration like it got hot at the top of the riser elbow. I have the Chrysler 383's does anyone know If I can do the risers with the boat in the water or do I need to pull it? Since its all raw water cooling should I be changing...

It would. I don't think the trawler is happening though. The seller is getting flaky. I got a few irons in the fire just waiting on responses.

I would agree. I dont blame the boat at all. When I first bought it I wasnt married with step kids. It served me well. I will miss it I love the boat. Your close we total in at 860 pounds. If I moved her boy to the back all would be well. Part of the decision though is we like to be out on the...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

Well I might sell it at the end of summer. The wife and I are looking at some larger boats 38-41 feet. With Her and I and both kids and thier friend the bow was sitting low enough in the water I was getting nervous and we almost stuffed it a few times. I am 6'1 220 she is 6'1 and a little...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

Nah my prop is in the water. I'm running neutral trim too. If I try to trim it up in an attempt to raise the bow it just porpoises. It's normally a good problem to have but I'd like to be able to raise the bow a little. I haven't needed to yet but I like to be prepared. She ran like a scalded...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

Took it out for some fishing yesterday that turned into a 10 mile ride. It got windy. Still managed to go 34.5 against wind and current. I am gonna try raising the motor a little more. Where it sits currently as soon as I start to trim up it starts puirposing. Which is odd. I could trim alot...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

The jack plate was fairly cheap I got it on Amazon for $200. It's not hydraulic though there's 3 3\4 bolts on each side you loose. And one on top to move it up and down. Still I'd do it again. If I had one choice it would be between gator glide and the jack plate. I got this one WFLNHB JPL4500...

    1978 SS 16 restoration

Yeah Mine jumps up but there is no trimming to raise and lower the bow. I am guessing because we have pretty even weight distrobution. Yes the jack plate really lets me fine tune and the higher the motor is the less drag though I havent noticed much difference yet. But it seems like there isnt...
