    Control lever removal?

yup, wondering if the set screw is on his is on top, when the handle is pushed in then it might be hidden. Based on the handle casting, it looks like if there is a screw it would come down from the top, but between the handle and the plastic cover.... No idea though, and just trying to help :)

    Control lever removal?

Definitely not what I was expecting either :) Quick question, as I don't know this type of controller at all... for throttle only does is there a center button that you removed before taking the pictures? or does the throttle handle tilt towards you to put it in neutral? If the handle...

    Control lever removal?

yeah, that set screw is a royal pain. there were some changes to the handle over the years. My original the access was through the square trim piece, with the seat in the way this was terrible to see. I replaced the handle and they moved the set screw out a bit in the newer version and you...

    Control lever removal?

If you have a picture of the controller we might be able to help better :) I have a 1982 Baretta and just went through redoing the controller and the cables. For mine there was a set screw at the bottom of the handle that you had to access through the plastic bezel (one yours I imagine the...

Can the base of engine work? Two to bolts under engine are rusted and can

If this was my boat.... I would replace the anode bolt that's clearly missing first. After that bolt is installed and torqued correctly, I would float it and see if the leak stops. If you don't believe that the anode bolt goes through the hull here's a pic of one: Use a flashlight shining...

Can the base of engine work? Two to bolts under engine are rusted and can

That nut should be tightened against the other side of the cable from the brass barrel. It is a stop nut to keep the end from coming loose (the end is the threaded part and smooth part of the end of that cable). Tis part is removed when running a new shift cable. after you run the outer...

Can the base of engine work? Two to bolts under engine are rusted and can

You've got the firing order switched around. Currently you are running 1-4-3-2. It should be 1-3-4-2, If you forget this info is on the value cover :) I did this once before and it will run, but not happy and shakes, correct he firing order and you should be good.

Another 140 Delco EST conversion thread

Hi Everyone, I didn't want to derail the other recent thread for using the Delco EST in an older 140 motor. Background info: Engine serial number is A395507 which should be an ~1986 motor. The spec is to be timed at 6-BTDC. I spliced into the choke 12V wire to provide power to the coil (no...
