    I took this video a few days ago. I’m not sure about the specifics of the motor. I’m sure I sound like an idiot, but I appreciate any information. I’m taking it to a local mechanic this weekend.

    I’ve run it on muffs and in the lake. I can let it idle with muffs on and it does fine. It will idle fine in the lake as well. But after I run it for a few minutes down the lake, it stops peeing and it’s more spewing/steam.

    No sir. The prop is still what came on the motor when I bought it. Carbs are clean, I assume all 4 cylinders are still firing. Would a compression test be the best way to see if they are?

    Hi, I recently bought what I think is a 1984 model 50hp Mercury. I took it out and noticed the tell-tale was spewing out piping hot water. I figured it was the water pump and completely replaced it. I took it out again and once I cranked my motor, it was peeing just fine. After about 5 minutes...
