    Engine Replacement Compatibility

@Scott Danforth I want to mention that I looked at the work you did on your Rogue cruiser. I just wanted to say that the boat is absolutely gorgeous, and that was some awesome work!

Thanks Scott! I always knew them as pinned topics, but sticky works for me.

    Engine Replacement Compatibility

Ah ok, I knew that stickies referred to something on the forum. That makes sense, the pinned threads. You got it. Thanks again, guys. I'll be back when I've drilled into a specific project. In the meantime, I've written down the key things to consider that I've learned from you all.

    Engine Replacement Compatibility

Broad as it may be, this information is also helpful for me - so thank you. So far, though, my post has proven very useful to me even though it may seem broad to others.

    Engine Replacement Compatibility

You've made all the key points I was looking for, and I greatly appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to share these things with. I agree that nothing can be completed without research, and is always always the most important step to take before making any decisions or purchases. I'm...

    Engine Replacement Compatibility

I'll understand if the question is too broad and can't really be answered fully! I think Scott here has a lot of the information I'm interested in: Scott, This is fantastic information for me, thank you so much. This, I can definitely use if I do decide to do any more work on my Glastron in...

    Engine Replacement Compatibility

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in writing back - there was a lot going on at work yesterday. I'm very appreciative of all the responses I've gotten - you guys are a great help! Going back to my post- that's right, it is only a 17 foot boat, and I'm not looking to do anything extreme. To be...

    Engine Replacement Compatibility

Sure, Chris - thanks! For the past 7 years I have a 2001 Glastron SX 175 with a Mercruiser 190 HP 4.3L w/ Alpha One drive. I don't plan on selling this boat, but I will be buying a new boat within the next few years as the family continues to grow. Once I buy a new boat, I'll probably begin...

    Engine Replacement Compatibility

Hello friends, I hope everyone is having a safe and fun boating season! At some point down the road, I'm sure I'll be doing a boat renovation and I just had a question in anticipation of that (and also if anything should happen to my current engine). If someone was looking to replace their...

Glastron SX 175 Spark Plug Wires Replacement

That's true, I'll be sure to do that. Makes sense not to install replacements for something that's still got plenty of life left. Though, I might pick up an extra pair just to hold in case of an emergency. Add it to my "spare parts" bin when out on the water. Murphy's law, and all.

Glastron SX 175 Spark Plug Wires Replacement

Thanks Bondo! That makes sense. I spoke with the shop that services my engine and the receptionist told me that I could go into any automotive store and find replacements. It seems that wouldn't be the case, then. (unless I pick up universal/uncut wires and size/crimp them myself?) As always...

Glastron SX 175 Spark Plug Wires Replacement

Hey all, I've had my 2001 Glastron SX 175 with a Mercruiser 6 cylinder 4.3L 190 HP engine going on 6 years now. I came to the realization that since owning my boat, I've never replaced my spark plug wires - and from my understanding, they're a maintenance item that usually should be replaced...

    Mercruiser 4.3L 190 HP Carb/Manifold Intake Upgrade

Hey guys - back at it with another question. I hope you don't mind. I've been doing some research and it seems like ensuring you have reliable, good quality fuel pressure regulator if you're upgrading to an expensive carb. With my 2001 Glastron SX 175 190HP 4.3L engine, I *believe* my fuel...

    Mercruiser 4.3L 190 HP Carb/Manifold Intake Upgrade

Got it, thanks Michael! I'll be sure to pick up some plugs. Looks like they're not too expensive.

    Mercruiser 4.3L 190 HP Carb/Manifold Intake Upgrade

That's good to know, thanks for sharing. I know there's a lot of different factors when tuning the carb, so I'll roll with it. I'm sure I'll have to make adjustments, but at least it's a good starting point.

    Mercruiser 4.3L 190 HP Carb/Manifold Intake Upgrade

Great, thanks for tracking that down for me. That'll definitely save a lot of time and hassle. Rick helped me out on another post before and he knows his stuff. Much appreciated :)
