    thanks scott, that was helpful i'll look into that and see how I can trouble shoot the controls of the boat and see how I can trigger something for it to get into gear.

    the boat has been sitting for 5 years but I changed the impeller and fuel pump and she runs great on dry land, I have not put her in the water as of yet

    I pushed the middle knob on the shifter and nothing happened
