    My Merc dealer says to stick with their two brands of oil. Is it that much better when you are running a Merc two stroke 60hp.     scaring the fish?

    When trolling at 2-3mph my down rigger cables emit a high frequency whine noise. Bigger cable or different weight cannon balls might change this? Does anyone know if this spooks the fish?

    1999 60 2 stroke sneezes at idle

    I bought this engine new and it pops at idle if I adjust all 3 carbs for best idle.If I adjust the bottom carb another 2 turns out and leave the other carbs as set, the lean pop stops.     Anyone know how durable these Mercs are? Can a little more Hp Be squeezed out of this engine? Timing? Carbs? Port Work? Iv'e been told adding a small amount of methyl hydrate to the fuel boosts Hp. Boat is a wide body Smokercraft 15Ft Can't crack 40mph. Like a little more top speed
