    I have a 1988 Force 85HP. I few weeks ago I was trying (for the first time) to turn the knob that locks the engine in the lowered position (it is not a power tilt). It wouldn't turn, then the knob broke right off! There is a small metal piece that the knob was attatched to that turns to lock...

    85 HP Question

    This may be a silly question, but I have an 85 HP on a 1987 17' Bayliner and I was wondering how to keep the engine locked in the down position so it does not pick up out of the water when putting it in reverse and giving it quick throttle. Thanks for the help!
