My grandfather has a 1968 Evinrude 100HP outboard on his 16' Larsen. It is equipped with an electric shift and the reversing coil went out on him. He is a retired electrician and tried to rewind/fix the coil. In doing so, he sheared the lead between the case and the coil and cannot repair it...
