I have an early 90's model 90HP mercury outboard. It has 3 solenoids with tilt, trim and starter solenoid.
I recently took it out and it cranked when launching fine, but after running a few minutes and cutting it off all I got was clicking from the solenoid, but the starter would not turn over...
