I ordered and received a regulator/rectifier 585001 for my old 96 evinrude 70 hp outboard.
However, it only has 4 wires coming out of it. The original equiptment has 5. the purple wire(ignition?) is missing on the new unit. The schematic show a Y("terminal ring") that goes on the red wire...
