    If the Springs are tired, the weights and pins are also likely worn, which all together affects the Rate of Advance as well as the Total Advance. The pricey One-off Marine Distributor with the correct Timing Curve might be the better choice

    Unlikely. I suspect the Aftermarket will be focused mainly on the Chev SB and BB, along with some Ford engines.

    Replacing those parts, isn't take the old one out/off, put the new one in. There are Shims in there to adjust the Gear Mesh, perhaps that wasn't checked

    Increasing the ISO, iphones and other cell phones do it automatically(DSLR and Mirrorless can be configured for it), doesn't increase the sensor's sensitivity. All it does is amplify what the sensor sees, it also amplifies any noise the sensor is creating.

    BRP Engine Cleaner or Mercury's Engine Tuner, are 2 of the better Ring unstickers in 2 strokes. CRC gdi ivd intake valve cleaner is also really good for that too. Place the piston high up in the cylinder to cover the Ports, and spray in a couple teaspoonfuls, and let it sit for a couple of days

    The Carb should be fully closed at the Start Position of the Throttle. What exactly are you adjusting when you say you adjusted the Idle Speed?

    Welcome to iboats There was no 60hp in the mid 70s. There was a 3 cylinder 60hp in 1970, and 71. In 1980, a 2 cylinder 60hp, was introduced.
