I'm considering purchase of a 22' aquasport with 5.7L volvo penta that has a Cobra SX dirve. I have no experience with this drive but did have a 5.7L mercruiser with Alpha1 that performed well. Which outdrive is better?
On my 1998 115 SPL the overheat alarm goes off after about 5 minutes of idling while I'm still in the no-wake zone. The water pump is working properly and a good hard stream from the motor. I unplug the horn and wait another 5 minutes, plug it back in, and never hear from it again. Any ideas?
I am upgrading engines going from a 1990 Evinrude 100 to a 1998 Johnson 115 SPL and would like to continue to use my existing controls and ignition. The older motor used the big red plug at the motor but the new motor is set up differently. Is there an adaptor that I can use?

My 1993 Merc 135 shifting is very tight. I removed the shift cable at the engine and tried to move the shift shaft but it's very tight. Is there anything I can do without removing the power head and/or lower unit to loosen it up?
