Sea Doo GT - won't crank

My 1990 Sea Doo just "clicks" when you hit the starter. Battery seems fine & isn't that old. I use a Yuasa Smart Shot trickle charger to keep it up. Prior to dying, my neighbor was having difficulty getting it started. We'd been running the ski for anout aI think we ran the starter longer...

    1990 SeaDoo GT bogs down

    I have a 1990 SeaDoo GT.

When I start out from the dock, and occasionally after a big set of hard wave hopping, the ski will bog down for a short time, then slowly come back up to speed.

Seems like either the engine is starved for fuel, or even flooded as I sometimes think...

    PWC Trailer Tire PSI ?

I have an older Shoreland'r PWC trailer I recently acquired. I just replaced two of the 4.80 by 8 tires it had. It hauls a 460lb jet ski.

The specs sticker has faded. Any idea what the tire psi should be on this thing? The tire side walls say they will hold 90psi max. Seems...

What to look for - 1990 Sea Doo

I just came into a 1990 Sea Doo GT. It was last run on Lake Erie back in August by me. This has been a fresh water-only ski.

It was cold-blooded back then, but once it was warm, it was ok. I just looked at the spark plugs and they are pretty dirty, so thats easy. It also made a...

    1990 SeaDoo GT freeze concern

I just came into a 1990 SeaDoo GT. I towed it 400 miles from my brother-in-law's garage in Ohio to my home in VA. Last time this thing ran was this past August.

To my knowledge, it hasn't been out where it is below freezing. He had it in a storage facility. It is in my garage...

How are 93ish Sea Doo GTSs ?

Seems I'm coming into the posesstion of a 93ish Sea Doo GTS 3 seater.

I've run it last summer. Seemed to run ok, but made a deep throaty sound like a leaky car muffler might. I expect to pick it up around spring break.

How are these jet skis? What should I look out for?

Evinrude 9.9 moves me 20.2 mph @ WOT, sound ok

My 1990 Evinrude 9.9 moves me (185lbs), my 112 lb 12 ft Meyers, and gear at 20.2 mph at WOT. I don't know what my RPMs are, but the motor seems to run just fine.

I clocked this on my GPS. Does this sound OK?

Thanks,
ed

OK to run at WOT sustained?

I've been running around my local resivoir with my recently acquired 1990 Evinrude 9.9. I usually vary my throttle, but a lot of the time I'm at WOT for 10-15 minutes at a time. Is this bad practice? I can't help it, its too much fun going fast!

    03 Tohatsu 3.5 -- No mission

    Just upgraded from a 10' jon with a 3.5 Tohatsu to a 12' Meyers laker with a 1990 9.9 Evinrude.

Looks like my little Tohatsu no longer has a mission.

Question is, should I keep the Tohatsu as back up power for the Evinrude, or sell it? Has maybe 35-40 hours on it.<br...

    1990 Evinrude 9.9 hesitation problem

I recently bought a dust covered, but otherwise mint '90 Evinrude 9.9 from a man who bought it new, and used it twice (maybe 5hrs?) in the last 14 years. Last run in ’92. Kept in climate controlled storage for years. Didn’t have an owners manual. Came with 6 gal steel tank.
<br...
