    Re: intermittent knock at high rpm under load ok built a fuel pressure tester for the gas tank side. Will start there. My fuel tank vent looks to be open and inside the gas cap opening. Yet the gas cap looks like it is sealed with a rubber ring. I don't see how air gets to the fuel tank vent...

    Re: intermittent knock at high rpm under load Went to regap my plugs and cylinder 2 and 6 on starboard side broke in half. After only one time out with new plugs! So this must be some serious detonation. I am now wondering if there is a water leak in the head on 2, and 6? What do you guys think?

    I have a knock at 4600rpm max throttle every 30sec or so. If I back off the throttle off just a bit to 4500rpm it goes away. It sounds like a rod knock. My guess is that there is detonation. 2004 merc 5.0L alpha one genII 2bbl carb w/TKS, thunderbolt V ignition. Engine only has 160hrs...
