    Mercury 9.9 identification

    I need help identifying a 9.9 Mercury motor. The serial number is OA739132. Data plate say's made in Canada. I tried using the serial number list method I found on line but could not find anything close to these numbers. Thanks Tom

    1979 Evinrude 2hp recoil starter

    I picked up a 1979 Evinrude 2hp and the starter rope is fully extended. I have been unable to remove starter to try to repair it. Looks like two clips on rear of engine and two bolts that extend up fron bottom of engine but top still doesn't come off. What else needs to happen to remove starter?
