    Metal Boat Lettering

Thanks guys, got it done on Thursday. Still a bit surprised I didn't slice any fingers off with all that detailed x-acto work!

Not to just post the pic, but to use it in my signature. So far, I can only get the thumbnail to show up there. 🤔

    Metal Boat Lettering

The next challenge is going to be getting out my X-ACTO blades to offset the edges when I put the tape on the back of the letters. I really like how Chaparral did that. When looking at the letters on the boat, it looks like they are just floating off the surface of the gelcoat.

    Metal Boat Lettering

@Scott Danforth - I believe you're right. That does look like what was used. The boat just turned 29 years old and all those original chrome letters and the logo are still solidly in place and don't budge at all. The instructions say it takes 72 hours to cure 100%. Wondering if I should rig...

I couldn't get the link from Photobucket to work, so I created an album here and uploaded the pic to that album. Now just trying to figure out how to get the link from that album to put at the bottom of the signature. 😖

    Metal Boat Lettering

Had a minor incident at the dock over the weekend (I don't want to talk about it 😫) and two of the letters in the Chaparral logo on my '94 2130 were knocked loose. Fortunately, they didn't go down to Davy Jones' locker. They were hanging on by a thread and I was able to pull them off. Trying...

What is this called and where to find?

Thank you sir. This was driving me nuts, not even knowing what to search for!

What is this called and where to find?

Found this on the floor of my Chaparral today under the starboard gunnel. There are a total of 4 of these that support the steering and throttle cables, wire loom and other miscellaneous wires going from the engine up to the console. I can see the screw where it broke off from. what the heck...

    Steady Buzzer Sound

Forgot to update this thread after finally figuring out the issue. There is a clip on the side of the engine block that holds up the wiring loom behind the alternator. The clip was loose enough to allow the loom to sag down, which caused the orange alternator wire to just barely rub up against...

    Steady Buzzer Sound

Thanks for the reply @Chris1956, but I see now I didn't describe the issue well enough. As soon as I reconnect the red starter cable to the battery, all the console lights/gauges come on. Its just as if I had turned the ignition key to the On position. After about 15 seconds, the buzzer comes...

    Steady Buzzer Sound

I have a 1994 Chaprarral 2130 Sport that I bought new and have kept it in my garage ever since I took delivery. I only boat in a freshwater lake, wash and clean it up after every trip, so this issue should not have anything to do with corrosion. The boat came with the 7.4L Mercruiser which...
