travelling back last week the engine seemed underpowered then every now and again there was a surge of power, when the boat was out of the water i could smell burning oil took the engine cover off and had emulsified oil all over the engine coming from the breather, now i assume it was running on...
Something is amiss!!!! tach or rev counter is behaving strangely rising to 7000 for no reason, engine wont idle and even at 3000 sometimes just shuts down, will start OK but cleaned rotor and cap and all connections,, it still persists...... am i missing something obvious? It appears to be...
Dived in all guns blazing, testing circuits pulling clocks off, then bypassing switches, it was just a poor connection on the the main engine loom plug, on the starter wire red/yellow ,,,,gggrrrrrrrr
