I been debating which is a better way to go, I have a 20' Searay w a 351 ford engine, would a trolling plate mounted to the I/O be a good option or a electric trolling motor (55lbs of thrust).........my old boat can go slow enough but this one needs help........welcome comments

I finally put the old row boat to sleep and bought a 20' searay sunchaser (1976) runs well haven't had any problems----yet. Anyone have experience with this boat or can give me a heads-up to potential problems
recently I was given an Evinrude 40 hp norseman engine model # 40253 E serial # J02773 , What year would this be and what is a good sourse for a wiring harness--- any other info on this engine would be most welcome---thanks
