    I have a 81 volvo penta aq260a just bought recently and it has a electronic distributor just wondering if I can use the same plugs as when there were points I believe that the coil on a point type distributor puts out about 20000 volts and gms electronic puts out 40000 volts

    start but won't run

    I have a 81 volvo penta aq260a and it will start but when I turn the key to run it stops I checked the switch and it is ok I can hook a wire from the battery to distributor and keep it running. just wondering if there may be a safety that won't let it keep running when running oil pressure ok...
