    need teck advice for my omc sterndrive

    just replaced the sliding sleve n shoe shift in my upper gear housing when taking for a test run forward was reverse reverse forward,and then the upper drive shaft busted through the top cover,any idea what would have caused this,thankyou.reason i ask because the mechanic says not his fault must...
