    Draw on battery 1

@alli posted my serial number but you may have missed the post. Im concerned I don't see any mercathode box on the boat- and I pulled my motor out. I do have a bus bar looking thing mounted on the transom I have never messed with- perhaps there was a cover on it that would have said "mercathode"?

    Draw on battery 1

So as an update, while I have not yet resolved what the draw is, moving those two wires stopped the bleeding on the battery. I will get that amp tool @jeff mentions and figure it out. Thanks all-

Is there a complete service guide?

All great questions...I have seen trailer bearing grease advertised so I know that is out there. I'd think the bearing mfg. would have some sugestion- but I'd think they are all designed to use what is readily available for trailers- there may be some specific other designs. My trailer sounds a...

Is there a complete service guide?

Thanks- for the most part that is my trailer use except a couple of miles to the ramp and for reasons that are improving, should start being more frequent. I would also like to get over to the intracoastal here in Florida but right now I don't trust it. I replaced one set of springs as one had...

Is there a complete service guide?

Thanks for the info...that grease seems to get everywhere! What about the hubs? I have a 10k trailer and it looks like each would hold a gallon of grease! If I do need to fill them up..what will clean that grease out? I think i will just replace the bearings, they just don't cost that much...

Is there a complete service guide?

Im sure the process is the same..I'm looking for the tricks to keep it from being such a mess! Do you clean the bearings with any solvent? I have one hub that is heating up- i had a bearing come apart before on the same wheel- I put a new bearing and race in it. It runs about 120 vs 90's on the...

Is there a complete service guide?

I have a pretty old trailer for my rinker 270. It has two axles and rated for 10K. It has spindles with zerts to grease the rear bearing. Both have spent most of the time I've owned it sitting- no long trips. It was a mess when I got it, rebuilt the brakes and new bearings and such. It has...

    Hot water heater

It does not appear the heat exchanger was the issue. Please read last post and comment- driving me crazy!

    Hot water heater

That did resolve the issue. Also had a blocked tank vent if that could have possibly caused it.

    Hot water heater

Ok, update for any following. I cut the crossover line and capped both ends. I had about a quarter tank of water so I thought I'd just back it in the water and let it come to temp...it seemed to be working ok- I left the pump off and turned on a cold faucets and one of the hot. Seemed to work...

    Draw on battery 1

Thanks jeff- I understand what it is I just can find it! I pulled the engine and outdrive/transom assembly myself- i did not see it. I remember something on the bottom of the gimbal ring with wires- and I replaced it- I don't recall where they went or any box labeled mercathode as i see on...

    Draw on battery 1

Evening and happy new year sir! I do have a serial number : ow038097. I have had the motor out of this and I'm not familiar with a box that says mercathode on it. I moved that wire to the com post on the battery selector so I dont have the battery draw in storage. Disconnecting the battery would...

    Draw on battery 1

I just saw your message, thanks. My electrical is very limited- with no drawings for what wire goes where and know what should be hot and what should be not I checked a different way. I pulled the neg terminal for each battery to test amp draw on the batteries with everything turned off. Bat 1...

    Hot water heater

Not having taken one apart, there are only a couple of opportunities for hot water/coolant pressurized to take over the faucets. It really makes no sense n se to me- I'll take the coolant hoses off and I'm pretty sure it will stop. If I can still use it on shore and electric I can get by- but...

    Hot water heater

I guess i have to really look at the water distribution. I don't know where the cold water is going into the tank for one. I have one cold water line and one hot- i have only one faucet that is cold only- I have the swim platform, the head and the galley sink that have both hot and cold. I...

    Hot water heater

This all sounds good- but- what would be the explanation for why has this now become an issue on a 2006 boat? It would seam that a waterheater would be a pretty simple contraption! Externally, I see only the one valve - possible that valve has failed? I found not see cold water line for water...

    Hot water heater

Intersting thoughts- if it indeed is leaking coolant into the water system it's not real apparent. Can't really go by the reservoir, unless it was just empty. I popped the engine heat exchanger and it was pressurized and full - so I'm suspicious of diagnostics but don't have another...

    Hot water heater

Good morning! I'm reviewing your comments, thank you for posting your thoughts. The boat is a florida boat so perhaps it was not set up for winter? The boat had 50 hours on it when I bought it. It did come down from the panhandle which can get pretty darn cold- maybe someone has messed with it...
