    1972 Mercury 800 HAS SPARK. HAS FUEL. STILL WONT START. WILL CRANK PLZ HELP

    Okay so i have a 1972 mercury 800 80hp that used to run great! Took it to a lake and it bogged down and then didnt want to start. Rebuilt the carbs and it would start but now it wont start at all .. Just crank. Has spark.. Good fuel.. Whats the problem? Any ideas?

    newer style fuel filters vs older style fuel filters?

    i have a 1971 mercury 80hp .. as im doing the carb clean i see the fuel filters in my carb kit are not like the new ones.. the new ones have a screen with plastic housing.. the older ones are just a metalic screen no housing... in the book it says the older ones should be replaced with the new...
