    1972 sears eska 7 hp outboard shift issue

    1972 eska 7 hp outboard with forward neutral shift is always in forward gear. When I shift to neutral I hear gear noise like it is trying to come out of gear, but prop still spinning.In forward it is fine. Any help with trying to fix the shift on this? Thanks
