This 9.8 has been a loyal engine. I had someone tune it up and went backwards from there. The engine fires, has water flowing, but the water gets very hot, scalding hot....thoughts?
Evinrude 110 "89 Had the carbs rebuilt - cost over a grand - they claim to have tested the boat. First time turn the key in water the engine alarm is solid. Mechanic claims they are unrelated - I want to poll the group.

Went in for a tune-up - charged $1K for carburetor rebuild and other engine charges I didn't understand. Put in a fuel filter - I was told I did not have one but now installed. Took it for a trial. The horn sounded once in gear - then finally stopped. Ran great for 10 min at near top...
